Bey, Jen & Alicia ~ Hot or Not?!?

Seriously, is anyone really surprised that the power went out at the game?  I mean come on, with a performance like Bey's, I'm surprised there wasn't a city wide outage!  I'll be the first to admit my eye squints every time I hear her name.  I know this is newcomer blogging suicide, however, I just don't get all the Beyoncé hype.  She's good, but there is definitely... okay, let's just leave it at the fact that prior to this performance, I've always seen her as good.

I'm not hating, I went to a Destiny's Child concert and loved every second of it.  I've used the term 'bootylicious' in many a conversations.  I just, kinda turned a leaf I guess you could say, around the exact same time she 'turned' her girls.

Proenza-Schouler-platform-booties-BeyonceI absolutely will not be hating on Rubin Singer any time soon, thought. DAMN.  Fierce and on Fire (yes Beyoncé too), that bodysuit, inspired by Singer's "Valkyrie's Dominion" F13 collection was the only thing that needed to come out on the field on game night.  Seriously.  Stitched together by hand to body... can I get me one of these please? Vday is just around the corner, and this piece of leather and lace is exactly what we need to bring some hotness back into Feb 14th.  Red feathers and fluff, move the hell over, your time has come and gone.  Make way for some bad ass leather with a side of lace and fishnet.  And how fun were those Pebbled leather booties by Proenza Schouler?  A couple seasons to the wind already, but being up in the Great White North, I could rock these all blizzardy season long.

Well before Bey shut down the game, Jennifer Hudson did what she does... sing with a kind of power that sends shivers down the spine, finishing up with a set of goose bumps on top yo' arms.  That girl can sang.  What's beautiful and brilliant about the performance is her own personal experience with gun violence. You could see the genuine emotion and understanding as she performed with those children.  By virtue of talent, I don't think there is a way to tame down the boom, but she kept it smart and respectful, allowing the moment to not just be about her, but embracing the 26 Sandy Hook students as they represented their families and friends lost in tragedy.

With that being said, I normally would have heaved and rashed with what she was wearing.  I get it though.  It was subdued, not flashy, and again very respectful based on the situation.  Regardless, it's my blog, and what's a blog if I can't bitch about people who have it better than me, lol  That leather top, gross. I really just think it's so terrible and ill fitted that it truly looks to me like pleather.  She is so striking and soooooo talented, why oh why, pray tell, tell my why the buttons down the front?  'America the Beautiful', is it an homage to the navy or something?  I don't know, I just don't like any of it.  Maybe each piece as a separate, especially them fancy ass shoes, but together?  C'est terrible!

Ms Alicia Keys, always sexy.  Always smart.  And I am still loving the bob, it is such a polished look!  I have to admit, I don't know that complimented her more, the white Yamaha or the dynamically spectacular red Alia dress.  There was something old Hollywood and loungy about the dress that looked so smooth on her.  With the slicked back and aggressively parted hair and her 'lengthy' performance of the 'Star Spangled Banner', it almost felt like she pulled off a bit of a tribute to Black History Month.  There was something so Dorothy Dandridge about her, and yet she was all Alicia too. Love her and loved the look.

There was a lot of hotness going around at this year's Super Bowl, with special 'unintentional' tribute to some of the most beautiful and powerful black female entertainers of all time stealing the show.  Well done ladies, and thank you NFL for a fantastic show.

Love and Light,
Miss A
