As inspired by Tarot: Should the world about us come to an end, it is within the seeds of a Mother that will make us whole again. Clicktotweet
Ultimately, my goal as an author is to someday bring a new world to life. Unheard of heros, lands and existential crisis'... and of course, lots and lots of magic (keep Panthegrah in the back of your mind so you can someday say, I read her blog when she was still a nobody, lol). So every time I get my hands on a new fantasy story, I engulf each page with two sets of eyes: that of someone who loves wizards and warlocks, and that of a storyteller-in-progress, absorbing, learning and asking myself ~ how would I have written this.
I just finished devouring MYST The Book of Ti'Ana by Rand Miller w/ David Wingrove. As I continue to work my way through reading all the books on my shelf, I was glad when the #ministarlite chose this particular one which was given to me about 15 years ago. After 'accidentally' losing one of the worst books I have ever read (it was non-fiction female sports related - pen in eye), I finally got to open up the pages to the world of D'Ni. It didn't disappoint.
At the end of the story, Ti'Ana (the main character), left me to ponder this ~
If on one of your adventures, you happened to cross the line into a new world, would you:
a) Tell them excitedly about our world
b) Out of protection for 'our people', say nothing
Being of the Wands type personality, I would most likely run my mouth about everything I knew and then some. If my knowledge proved to be the downfall of humankind, I'd have no shame in begging for forgiveness.

Now consider this; the sharing of planet earth's knowledge may have no effect on our world, but it could destroy the world you just walked in on. Imagine. The translation of your tales, and the patriotism of what you call home has the potential to destroy what may be thousands of years old. Yah. I think a stoning on my behalf would be well deserved.
Bottom line, my chattiness has always gotten me in trouble. Should I happen on 'another world', for our sake, and theirs… I'll keep my mouth shut. Well, I'll try.
Red Carpet Dreaming,
